The practical part gave us first-hand experience of what it was all about. My thinking in a stress situation was a lot different to the way I’d imagined it would be.

All the exercises were really exciting. And I liked that there were curveballs that threw your plans into disarray and meant you had to start from scratch in terms of what to do and how to do it. Just like in real life.

Field Training Exercise

The most effective training is practical training. Learn to see the roles of your teammates and yourself in a new light, get immediate feedback on your leadership mistakes, and end the day as a more cohesive team!

FTX (Field Training Exercise) is a hands-on leadership training that teaches, reinforces and tests your ability to use all the leadership principles we teach. We create a dynamic simulated environment where you have to solve problems as a team using leadership principles in constantly changing situations. Each Law of Combat is played out through practical exercises i.e. missions.

Participants are organized into teams, assigned leaders, and given a task to complete in a limited time frame, all working together. In planning and executing the mission, participants face the day-to-day challenges of leadership. To overcome them, leadership methods and principles must be applied. Winning can only be achieved as a team, and everyone must take ownership and lead where necessary.

After each mission we debrief and provide feedback, helping participants connect the freshly learned lessons to their daily work and personal life. Throughout the day all participants have roles both as a leader and a subordinate, helping them to develop their own leadership skills and those of others. You will have a unique opportunity to see the problems through the lens of a leader, subordinate and colleague. This setup contributes to better understanding of each other, the problems and possible solutions.

Leadership is a practical skill, and we are convinced that it cannot be learned just by studying in the classroom. We’ll take you out of your comfort zone for a hands-on experience. We simulate simple combat situations in the field to give you the opportunity to go through short cycles of planning, execution and feedback. Airsoft or laser guns are used as aids, no previous experience is necessary – all training is done on the spot. Emphasis is on practical training of leadership methods.

The training is not physically demanding, and you will not become a soldier or an excellent marksman after the training. It is a leadership development course. The leadership principles and skills acquired will be useful in business and in personal life.
