Leadership principles from the battlefield 003 - ENGLISH

DATE AND TIME: February 8, 2023, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

LOCATION: Tallinn

This theory course covers important principles and the methods to apply them in real life. There’s a great emphasis on group discussion and situational exercises to find out the best ways of applying these principles in your field of activity. We give examples from the battlefield, private enterprise, everyday life etc.

Topics covered:

Extreme Ownership – I am in control of my life only when I take ownership of everything, instead of blaming others and making excuses.

Taking Initiative – problems are not going to get solved by themselves.

Adapt – the situation and environment are constantly changing.

Discipline Equals Freedom – how are these two tied together?

Humility – what is EGO, why and how is it beneficial to tame it in a leadership context.

The Four Laws of Combat (battlefield principles) and their application:

‘Cover and Move’ – the importance of teamwork. If the whole team doesn’t win, nobody wins.

Simplicity – details vs concepts, clarity vs complexity, finding the balance between them.

Prioritize and Execute – decision making, navigating between options and justifying the decisions.

Decentralized Command – freedom to decide, ‘the captain of information’.

The course takes place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with breaks after around each hour, according to need.
